Crafting the Collaboration: Behind the Scenes of Laura Jane Illustrations x CASETiFY

When I embarked on my digital illustration journey five years ago, I created a vision board with CASETiFY cases as one symbol of where I wanted my artistic path to take me. Well, guess what? That dream is now a reality! I'm absolutely thrilled to share the behind-the-scenes details of my second collaboration with CASETiFY and give you a sneak peek into the magic of creating a truly memorable collection.

The Partnership Story

Let's kick off with how this exciting partnership came about. Towards the end of 2021, CASETiFY reached out to me and my collaborations manager, expressing their interest in expanding their #CASETiFYArtists collaborations. They believed my colorful and quote-based designs would be a perfect fit for their fantastic range of tech cases. As an artist, the opportunity to work with a global brand like CASETiFY and showcase my work in a whole new way was beyond exciting! What really struck a chord with me was CASETiFY's mission to create tech cases that not only protect but also allow customers to express their unique personality. It was a match made in creative heaven, and when they proposed a second collection this year, I couldn't resist saying yes!

The Creative Process

Now, let's dive into the nitty-gritty of the creative process. Building on my experience from the first collection, I had a clearer vision of what designs would work best for CASETiFY's cases.

This time, I delved into my digital illustration archives, carefully selecting designs that could be adapted to suit their products. I also wanted to create a sense of cohesiveness by ensuring the designs seamlessly translated across different items like phone cases, MacBook covers, watchbands, and AirPod cases. To bring these ideas to life, I turned to Adobe Illustrator; it provided the flexibility I needed to transform my original illustrations and typography into vector format, create captivating pattern designs, and make quick adjustments when required. I went through numerous drafts, experimenting with layouts and patterns, until I narrowed down the absolute favourites for the collection.

Showcasing the Collection

One of the highlights of collaborations like this is the opportunity to create stunning photo and video assets that truly capture the essence of the designs and products. I wanted to give you a glimpse of how these amazing products can elevate your real-world experience. Just imagine having all your tech accessories coordinated with matching cases—your student desk or creative workspace would look absolutely adorable!

Collaborating for Success

Let me take a moment to express my appreciation for CASETiFY's collaborative approach as a brand. Working closely with their team, we mapped out the timeline for this project—from concept to launch day. We made sure to allow ample time for the design process, fine-tuning designs to fit all their cases, and incorporating feedback to ensure compatibility with both Apple and Samsung devices. From the initial design ideas to the promotional content, we worked hand in hand to launch this collection into the world and grab as much attention as possible.

Working on larger-scale projects like this may take a bit longer to go from the initial idea to the finished, shiny product, but the time and creative energy invested are always worth it. Seeing the designs out in the real world and receiving messages from my followers about their orders brings me so much joy!
